Outdoor entertainment centers such as you would find in hotels and resorts, pool side, boats and cruise ships typically require equipment like cable boxes, streaming media boxes, receivers and amplifiers to be installed into weatherproof media cabinets and enclosures. This creates a challenge with how to control them easily without direct access to the equipment. Well, Altelix has a solution for this, our NEMA rated IR Repeater / Extender kit!

NEMA 4X rated, this IR Infrared Repeater/Extender designed specifically for outdoor applications or indoor installations in high dust environments. By installing this kit into the front of a media equipment enclosure or cabinet, you can now control your devices without accessing the equipment directly. This better secures your equipment since now there is no need to leave open enclosure doors in order to use your IR remote control.

Installation is easy, drill a 1 inch hole in the front of your media enclosure or cabinet and install the IR receiver. It can be installed into panels and enclosure doors up to 6mm (0.23 in.) thick. The receiver cover is fully gasketed to provide a watertight seal. Then paste the IR emitter using its own adhesive over the IR receiver on the device you wish to control. Power is provided using the USB cable plug which you can plug into your TV, set top box or other device as well as a USB power wall adapter (not included).

The Altelix IR Repeater/Extender kit features an IR filter to help reduce interference from stray infrared sources such the sun, plasma TV's & CFL lightbulbs and is compatible with most IR controlled devices.
