The Altelix Solar Shield Kit is designed for use with Altelix NF14 series enclosure to help reduce the impact of direct sunlight and solar heat gain in outdoor installations. By minimizing internal temperature rise, this solar shield helps protect sensitive electronics and improves long-term system reliability in sun-exposed environments.
Mounted to the lid of the enclosure, this shield creates a physical barrier that blocks and deflects solar radiation. The amount of radiant heat transferred to the enclosure is significantly reduced. Constructed from rugged outdoor-rated materials, this solar shield kit is designed to withstand prolonged exposure to harsh environmental conditions, including direct sun-light, rain and temperature extremes.
This solar shield kit features stand-off mounts that allow it to be used with non-vented enclosures as well as enclosures with vents or cooling fans. Using the included templates, (4) holes are required to be drilled into the lid. The included rubber bonded washers help maintain the enclosure's NEMA rating. It is designed for use with the following series of enclosures:
