The Altelix NFC322412VFA1C-RV4U 19" 4U Rack Vented Fan Cooled Weatherproof NEMA Enclosure with 120VAC Power and Equipment Plate is ideal for protecting equipment from harsh environments and tampering. Equipment designed for indoor use can now be located outside.
Construction and Features
This rugged enclosure is molded from durable and UV resistant fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP). The door is fully gasketed making this enclosure suitable for use indoors or outdoors. The lockable door features reinforced hinges and dual quarter-turn latches to secure the enclosure and is locked and unlocked using the included removable keys. A drip rail over the door provides additional protection against water dripping into the cabinet while the enclosure is wet.
Bonus Aluminum Bottle Opener Key
This enclosure now includes our HN-0008 Aluminum Bottle Opener Key. A $9.99 value, this heavy duty aluminum door locking key easily attaches to most key chains. And it makes a great bottle opener too!
Power
This configuration consists of the fiberglass NEMA enclosure with hinged lid and a equipment mounting plate with two pre-wired duplex 120VAC power outlets (4 outlets total).
Plug and Play
The NFC322412VFA1C-RV4U features a 5 foot pre-wired power cord to provide power to the internal 120VAC outlets, so no additional wiring is required. Simply mount the enclosure then plug the power cord into a 120VAC outlet.
Dual Cooling Fans Ventilation
This enclosure features dual 4" vents and dual thermostat controlled cooling fans. The low noise, high airflow fans help maintain lower internal temperatures by allowing air to be either pushed or pulled through the enclosure. The fans turn on when the internal temperature reaches 100°F (38°C) and turns off when it drops to 79°F (26°C). Both fans are wired internally so they do not require the use of the AC outlets leaving them available for internal equipment use. Rain shrouds on the front door keep rain water from entering the enclosure.
Internal 4U 19" Vertical Equipment Rack
The NFC322412VFA1C-RV4U features a standard 19" 4U vertical equipment rack. It is designed to accommodate a wide range of equipment such as network switches, rack mount audio/video equipment and most other rack mountable equipment. The rack frame mounts to the equipment mounting plate which can also be drilled and modified by the installer to unique site requirements. Multiple mounting positions for the rack are provided to accommodate a wide range of equipment sizes.
Installation Note: The max. depth of the 4U rack is 26.2" (667mm). Before ordering please check the dimensions of the equipment to be installed to ensure proper fit.
Cable Glands
The enclosure features our unique PG-16 cable glands with a closed inner seal. They are installed in the open ports to maintain the NEMA rating of the enclosure when not in use. When required for use, simply punch a hole through the inner membrane, run your cables and tighten for a water-tight seal.
Mounting
Four mounting feet are included so that the enclosure can be securely mounted to a wall or other structure. For pole mounting Altelix has available the optional NMHS-600-16 pole mount kit. This heavy-duty kit features (2) 14 gauge steel mounting brackets and (2) heavy-duty 19 gauge 304 stainless steel adjustable bands which can be used to mount to poles from 4.5" (114.3mm) to 16" (406.4mm) in diameter.
Optional Lockable Latches
For additional protection of internal equipment installed, three lockable latches are available. The HN-0005 is a keyed lock set which includes two keys. Similar to the HN-0005, the HN-0001 has an interlock feature that traps the key when it is in the unlocked position. The HN-0006 allows the enclosure to be securely locked via use of a padlock (not included). All of these optional lockable latches are direct replacements for the standard quarter-turn latches that come pre-installed in the enclosures.
